CAMRA in Gloucester Xmas Party 2015

Wednesday 9th December 2015 saw the masses descend upon The Dick Wittington in Gloucester for our annual XMAS party. 30-40 people enjoyed an excellent ale-selection including Hardy and Hansons Rockin’ Rudolf, Skinners Cornish Knocker and Sadlers Thin Ice and Martin the landlord put on a stunning spread of food for our buffet. while the evening was xmas themed and a number of people got into the spirit as well as the ale there was no competition for the winners of the Xmas Fancy Dress. Thanks Tim and Andrea of Tap Brewery you guys really entered into the spirit of it ūüôā

Food superb and the beers superb. Woods Tight Head, Donnington BB, Stroud Tom Long and Doom Bar. Real cider in the form of Westons Rosie’s Pig and Robinson’s Flagon also available.

Give it a try!

Update and Upcoming Events

Approximately once a month, there is an electronic newsletter from the Chair about things going on in the sub branch, and about our events.  Due to the updated technology from CAMRA HQ we are now in a position to email all the members in our area for whom we have an address.  If you would prefer not to receive this newsletter, please email gloucester@gloucestershirecamra.org.uk and we will ensure you are not on the Gloucester list although you may still be contacted by HQ or County about important news and events.

The Tippler, our free County magazine is due to be in your local from this week.  It is also available on-line for those of you who prefer to access that way.  Usually we have our Gloucester events listed, but unfortunately that was not possible for the new editions so I have listed our coming events below.

August Mini Update

Just a very brief note about the trips planned for August, I will do more of a newsletter early August.

Saturday 1st August, there is a trip by rail to Malvern Link and Worcester.  Saturday trips are usually excellent days out, and can easily be combined with sightseeing or shopping!  The train departs from Gloucester at 11.36 but please meet at 11.20 to allow time for purchase of tickets.

Wednesday 12th August our social meeting is at Tank, Gloucester Brewery’s new tap.¬† There may be further exploration of the docks area to take in the Lord High Constable of England.

Friday 28th August, Cotswold Mystery Tour.  Booking is essential for this trip as it is by minibus.  Bookings back to me please and a reminder that trips are open to non members, but if high demand, members get priority.

Saturday 5th September, Kemble and Stroud by train. Meet 11.00 for the 11.14

Date for the diary – CAMRA in Gloucester AGM 30th September details to follow

It is really important that these trips are events are well supported or they are in danger of not taking place.

Cheers¬†and don’t forget to update me on any pub news you may have.
